Bienvenue en Afrique: Marrakech, Maroc

To finish off our European travels we decided to mix things up and we headed to Africa for a couple of days in Morocco. It was the first time we had braced the continent of Africa together and lets just say it was definitely an adventure.

Adventure #1: Upon arriving to Morocco we were not fully aware of the temperature that it experiences in the months of July/August. We quickly found out when we arrived and it was a 110 degrees. So to little surprise days 1 & 2 were spent on the brinks of several close "pass outs"... below Laura Grace had a close call when we decided we would rather walk two miles in the mid-day sun then spend 4 dollars on a taxi.. clearly the heat had already got to our brains.

Adventure # 2: Surviving the souks of Marrakech... the souks which are the markets of the city are a whole adventure in themselves. This is where all the haggling goes on... We managed to get a lot of cool things and always made sure to bargain our way down to at least half the asking price, thanks to the technique we like to call "the fake walk away".

Adventure # 3: Riding a camel (Checking it off our bucket list)... more on this to come.

(From Left to Right: Alison & Lod in our camel forms)

Adventure # 4: Climbing the Atlas Mountains, enough said.

Adventure # 5: After a 45 min hike we finally reached the waterfalls and enjoyed a relaxing but FREEZING swim accompanied by new friends with the Berber and Moroccan flag!

Adventure #6: Surviving Ryan Air. We realized quickly that you get what you pay for when using sketchy airlines. Lesson learned the hard way...but we got back to London eventually!
